Trends move fast in interiors, but a few themes keep showing up across the homes we're designing and building right now — not as passing fads, but as genuinely useful shifts in how people want their spaces to feel.
- Fluted and ribbed panelling. Texture over flat paint, used on TV walls, wardrobe fronts and even ceiling coves for a tactile, higher-end finish without heavy ornamentation.
- Warm, earthy palettes replacing pure white. Soft sage, terracotta, blush and warm taupe are showing up far more than stark white-and-grey schemes.
- Statement foyers. The entryway is getting real design attention again, from feature walls to consoles with proper lighting, rather than being an afterthought.
- Mixed metal and wood hardware. Brushed brass and warm wood tones paired together, moving away from all-matte-black hardware.
- Multi-purpose rooms. A guest room that's also a study, a living room that flexes for both everyday use and entertaining — layouts are being planned for more than one function per room.
None of these need a full renovation to bring in — most can be layered into an existing home through the right finishes and a few considered pieces.
